Learn all about our mission, vision, values and more. We hope that our work inspires you to join us in building working class power.
In 2019, a group of activists from the Fredericksburg area formed the Northern Virginia (NoVA) Worker Center. In 2021, we changed our name to the Fredericksburg (FXBG) Worker Center. The Worker Center is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity designed to build worker power in the Fredericksburg area.
We seek a just and democratic Virginia in which all residents can meet their needs and enjoy their human rights, including decent work with livable wages. We aim to build strong communities and dignified workplaces through education, leadership development, and community organizing.
We will be working on a number of projects and campaigns in the near future. Those programs will include: a Worker Rights Hotline to educate Virginians on employment, labor, and landlord/tenant law; Shop Talk meeting spaces for discussion and community organizing; and coalition building programs to prevent evictions.
The NoVA Worker Center is building worker power through education, leadership development, and community organizing.
We envision a more equitable Commonwealth that supports poor and working families through liveable wages, fair housing, and dignified jobs.

Our success depends on collaboration and coalition building. We cannot achieve our goals alone. We are very grateful for likeminded groups that join us to build worker power on the job and in our communities. Solidarity!
